Crystal Rivers

The new Crystal Rivers shopping centre development will comprise 19200m² GLA, offering three levels of a premium shopping experience with more than 100 local and international stores, including restaurants, entertainment, offices and a conference/exhibition facility. The design aims to excite and energise the spirit of the local shopper and to complement its surroundings.

The mall, owned by Safaricom Staff Pension Scheme, is positioned along the busy Mombasa Highway in Mavoko, outside Nairobi in Kenya; and adjacent to a new residential development in close proximity to the Athi River. It has been designed with security in mind and will offer three secured entrances onto the main retail level with 581 parking bays on the lower ground level and upper ground parking deck.

The food court area will offer a variety to food lovers and will look out onto an immaculately landscaped covered outdoor space that also serves as the main entrance from the residential side. The restaurants, coffee shop and sports bar will have decks that face out onto Mombasa Road. An entertainment zone, which comprises a cinema, games zone and Casino, together with office space, conference and exhibition space, will be located on the top level.

The mall has introduced green building principles such as rain water harvesting, a bio digester and use of natural lighting through skylights on the second floor.
