Mbabane Hotel Interiors
The design concept for the interior of this new hotel in Mbabane, Swaziland, drew inspiration from African and Swaziland heritage, history, arts and culture in conjunction with the building’s architectural language. The interior design concept references the geometric forms, shapes, weaves and beadwork found throughout Swaziland and the African continent. Traditional bespoke patterns and designs were reinterpreted with contemporary form, finish and scale. Textured yet muted tones of clay, bronze, cattle herd and dry grass provide a refined backdrop where elements of the past and present are poetically woven together to provide guests with a continuous reference to the culture-rich interiors.
