Redefine Offices - Rosebank
The planning philosophy for the Redefine fit out was to focus on creating relationships and connections between Redefine and the public, and to enhance collaboration internally between all the Redefine business units and staff.
The first impression for a visitor is a grand triple-volume atrium, which is both the public interface of Redefine, and a threshold between internal business functions and public interaction. The space is occupied by a sculpture by renowned South African artist, Marco Cianfanelli, and trees which bring a natural and fresh atmosphere to the space.
Office facilities include a Meeting Suite comprising meeting rooms of various sizes and two multifunctional training rooms which creates a semi-public threshold between the staff floor plate and the public reception in the triple volume atrium; a Boardroom with executive bar and lounge area; a Client Café and a Work Café, which encourage interaction among staff from various departments, helping to build a culture of collaboration, open communication and innovation; and a variety of Collaborative Spaces and Focus Areas strategically placed throughout the open plan floor plates. Two large outdoor terraces have built-in planters and benches, tables and chairs, and comfortable lounge-type seating.
Green design principles included biophilia, with internal planter boxes acting as screens between circulation routes and desks; an open plan office space with desks located away from windows, helping to minimise glare and direct sunlight; blinds on all windows to allow occupants to adjust the amount of sunlight entering the office space; monitoring of electricity and water consumption; recycling bins provided in the print hubs and kitchen areas; and finishes that comply with Green Star SA requirements.
