SENIOR ASSOCIATE: PARAGON ARCHITECTS
Jose graduated from the Technikon Witwatersrand with a National Diploma in Architectural Technology; and later from the University of the Witwatersrand with B.A.S. and B.Arch degrees.
He joined Paragon Architects in 2011 following a 15 year career at RFB Consulting Architects (Pty) Ltd. He has worked on a wide range of projects and architectural genres which include industrial, hospitality, retail, transportation, commercial, historical, educational and residential.
Jose’s most notable project achievements include the Mozal Aluminium Smelter in 2001 (Construction Industry & Project Managers Project of the Year); Alice Lane Phase I (SAPOA Winner: Commercial Office Development 2014); and the Sasol Head Office in Sandton.
As Senior Associate in charge of setting up office construction standards, Jose is a highly respected member of staff for the knowledge he brings to the company, and for his very interactive role in mentoring young graduates.
Jose is a member of the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) and the South African Institute of Architects (SAIA), with interests in cycling, running and travelling.
Jose believes that architecture should aim to improve the lives of building users; respect the natural environment; and improve the quality of the built environment through the creation of community spaces.
